Christy started teaching violin at the age of 18. She studied pedagogy as an extra while completing a double major in Orchestral and Solo performance at the University of Cape Town.
She believes that a teacher should be an experienced performing artist, and that experienced performing artists should be sharing their talents and experience through teaching.
She has been repeatedly invited to coach chamber music for the IAYO Chamber Music Workshop in Ireland and has been active coaching Youth Orchestras in the Emerald Isle.
Christy has a private violin class in Leuven and also teaches abroad.
